Basketball Tryouts: Oct. 8th



One Hope Athletics
  One Hope Athletics Junior High Basketball Tryouts will be held at the Rose Bowl on 11th Street just west of Memorial Drive. Tryouts will be from 5:00-6:00 for girls and 6:00-7:00 for boys on Monday October 8th.  (Tryouts will take place on our newly installed gym floor – the University of Tulsa is replacing the floor and goals at the Reynolds Center and the old floor and goals will now be our home court!)

COST: $200/player includes gym time and uniforms

One Hope Athletes will be made up of players attending the One Hope Academy, Epic One on One charter school, other charter schools, private schools who do not offer the particular sport, and other forms of homeschool students. During the startup phase of One Hope Athletics any student in 6th-9th grade will be allowed to participate if they are not playing currently on another school team. Students will have to maintain academic eligibility by making appropriate progress in their academics and will be required to maintain the code of conduct required for One Hope Athletes.

ONE HOPE ATHLETICS MISSIONS STATEMENT: TO USE ATHLETICS AS A VEHICLE FOR BUILDING COMPLETE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO MIGHT BECOME LEADERS AND DIFFERENCE MAKERS IN THEIR FAMILIES, CHURCHES, NEIGHBORHOODS, CITIES, NATIONS, AND WORLD

One Hope Athletics will provide the opportunity and the encouragement for students to pursue excellence in every area of their lives.

·  OHA will provide excellent coaching in team sports and will develop teams to compete at the highest levels possible
·  OHA will provide academic coaches who will encourage excellence in academics and provide tutoring recommendations and special academic advancement opportunities for OHA players
·  OHA will provide family counselors who will encourage excellence in family relationships and other relationships; OHA players will have access to trained counselors and mentors who will be able to assist in conflict resolution and relationship enhancement through counseling, actions, and seminars
·  OHA will provide physical training development with strength and quickness programs to encourage the pursuit of excellence for OHA players
·  OHA players will be involved in compassion projects that direct our players’ focus beyond themselves towards others and instill a mentality that seeks to encourage excellence in pursuing great causes and not just personal comfort
·  OHA players will be provided spiritual mentoring and discipleship to encourage the pursuit of excellence in their relationship with God and in the outworkings of that relationship with others
·  OHA Parents will be encouraged to pursue excellence in their relationships with their students through parental involvement and accountability

One Hope Athletics is intentionally college preparatory in our approach to athletics and academics. We understand that not all of our athletes will receive college scholarships, but we are committed to making sure that all of our athletes have the resources, support, and preparation to pursue whatever God has for them after high school. Preparation will include visits and exposure to college athletic programs.


One Hope Athletics has partnered with a group that has purchased the Tulsa Rose Bowl and its renovation will provide first class training facilities. The University of Tulsa Reynolds Center gym flooring and basketball goals are being moved from the Reynolds Center to the Rose Bowl. The 35,000 square foot facility will eventually house a 50 yard turf field as well as the basketball court and agility and weight training equipment.

One Hope coaches will include: GIRLS COACHES - Joe Blankenship – former varsity coach of Tulsa NOAH with over 20 years of basketball coaching experience; Miriam Boone – assistant varsity coach at Tulsa NOAH and former Union High School and College Basketball player.  BOYS COAHES – Jared Tabor – One Hope Academy coach for the past two seasons, former Tulsa NOAH assistant coach; Tyler Brown – One Hope Academy coach for past two seasons, former Tulsa NOAH assistant coach; Joe Blankenship

One Hope Basketball Facilities: planning continues..

One Hope is making plans to acquire a hardwood court to add to our indoor facility, at 7419 E 11 St.
One Hope Sports Complex: 7419 E 11th St.


The ultimate goal is to have a multi-sport indoor facility, including a full basketball court and an indoor turf for football training during inclement weather.
The former Rose Bowl is being transformed into a new One Hope Campus.
